A Monsoon Trip to Amboli and Pargad - Kolhapur and Sindhudurg Maharastra

Happiness is to visit a hill station in monsoon!!
So we decided to go to Amboli and some scenic places around it like Pargad Fort, which is covered with fog, mist and off course raining all the time in the month of July. This was the best time to visit this place.
Amboli is located in the Sindhudurg District of Maharastra. This is a perfect place to visit on a weekend trip.
We took a bus on friday from Bangalore to Belgaum(Karnataka) - Its is about 500km.
From Belgaum(Karnataka) we started our monsoon hill station trip in a car. From Belgaum, amboli is around 65km via Sawanthwadi Road. Amboli is located on the Belgaum - Goa State Highway. On the first day we went to Pargad Fort and on second day we visited Amboli.

Saturday morning we started from Belgaum to Pargad fort. On the Sawanthwadi road after travelling for 20km we reached patane-phata bus stop, here you have to take left and travel for 35km to reach the Pargad Fort.
On the way to Pargad Fort you can find some very beautiful scenes and also some water places. The only reason you should visit pargad fort is that - the ride to the fort is amazing. This ride to reach the fort is full of greenery all around and also covered with fog all the time in this season. Its like Heaven on Earth, you can witness it from my pics.

The nature lovers and bike riders will surely enjoy the ride to the fort.
You will also get to see some small water places on the way - you can see in the below pic.

After travelling through the very beautiful road we reached the Pargad fort.

After reaching the destination you have to climb some steps as you can see in the pic to reach the fort.

Once you reach to the top of the fort then you can see some lush green mountains and some temples. This fort was built by Shivaji Maharaj. There is a Bhavani temple and some old stone monuments.

From Pargadh we headed back to Patne for the night halt.

Amboli:
Next day morning we started from patne towards Amboli. Amboli receives the highest rainfall in Maharashtra. On the way to Amboli there are many view points which are worth stopping.

Amboli ghats lies on Belgaum - Amboli - Sawanthwadi route. This place comes alive when area is covered with mist and a light rainfall. You can witness the amboli water falls in my video below.

On weekends the crowd will be bit high, so plan accordingly.
There are no ATM's near by , so it is better if you carry cash.
The other nearby places to see are Sun set point - 2km from Amboli waterfalls, Hiranyakeshi temple, Nangarta falls.

Food: There are many restaurants in the 2-3km surrounding, if you want to have a quick bite then there are many food stalls near the falls on the road side.

                                                                      Thank you...
Hope you enjoyed the pics!!!
